The Namib Desert is the oldest desert in the world. At first glance you do not want to believe in this absolutely hostile landscape. Hence the designation Namib means "Empty space" and "place where there is nothing." It is literally "bone dry" here. Namibia is an ideal travel destination because of its unique geography, wildlife and especially for safaris. The untouched nature is specifically protected and preserved through an ecological and sustainable tourism.
Some animals and plants have managed to settle here and the harsh, but still very constant conditions wring their habitat. It is no wonder that there are specialized forms of life here that are unique in the world, such as the Welwitschia Mirabilis that can be seen in the Namib-Naukluft National Park.
