South Africa Garden Route Slides
The Garden Route extends along the coast of the Indian Ocean between Mossel Bay in the West and Jeffreys Bay to the East. Framed by the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma mountains as well as the Little Karoo in the hinterland, the region offers dense forests, shallow lagoons and endless beaches with pristine dunes. The subtropical rainforest with its giant yellowwood trees and the many beautiful wildflowers gave the Garden Route its name.
The vibrant town of Knysna is located on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in which oysters are grown - a world-renowned delicacy. Plettenberg Bay, an elegant seaside resort, combines white sandy beaches and crystal blue water with mountains. There are wonderful walks in the area, especially in the Robberg Nature Reserve.
