Ostrich Farms and African Animals

Africa offers a wide range of incredible wildlife. One impressive African animal is definitely the largest living bird which you can see and experience on an ostrich farm in South Africa's ostrich capital of Oudtshoorn in the Little Karoo. There are around 200 farmers who breed these flightless birds. About 70% of the feather production goes to Europe and the rest is processed in the country mostly for feather dusters.

Large male ostriches can weigh up to 120 kg and can grow up to 2.60 m tall, the neck makes up for nearly half the size. The plumage of the male is black, except for the white plumes on the wings and tail.
